About us
Cookies that surprise you.
Hungry Crumbs started in 2024 with a simple idea: a cookie should be a little unexpected. So we took over an empty storefront on Fremont Street and started baking.
The flavors got a little weird. People kept coming back. And what was supposed to be temporary became Hungry Crumbs.
How it started
We were supposed to be a pop-up.
Hungry Crumbs opened at 215 Fremont through San Francisco's Vacant to Vibrant program, which brought local businesses into empty downtown storefronts.
We got a few months, an empty space and a chance to see whether anyone wanted what we were making.
Turns out, they did.
The pop-up became permanent, and 215 Fremont became home. We're still here — baking every morning in the same little shop where it started.
What we do differently
Familiar enough. Never predictable.
-
Flavors worth the detour
Chocolate Chip is here. So are Ube, Lemon Curd, Banana Biscoff, Dubai and whatever we're experimenting with next.
-
Baked here, every day
Small batches come out of the oven throughout the day at 215 Fremont. Nothing arrives frozen and ready to sell.
-
Made to leave the shop, too
A few cookies for yourself, a box for someone else, or enough for an entire office. We bake for all three.
Behind the counter
The menu doesn't sit still.
Some flavors are classics. Others start with an ingredient, a dessert we remember, or something that sounds like it probably shouldn't work in a cookie.
We make them, taste them, change them, and occasionally find one we can't stop eating.
That's how flavors like Ube, Lemon Curd, Banana Biscoff and Pecan Dulce de Leche ended up next to Chocolate Chip.
And we're not done yet.
